Acadia Engineering Students Celebrate National Engineering Month

tl_files/sites/science/resources/Engineering.jpgFirst and second year students enrolled in Engineering at Acadia celebrated National Engineering Month on March 4th, 2010, with a full day of engineering activities.  The morning saw students participate in engineering competitions - one to design an energy-efficient water wheel, and the other to design a low speed glider.  The students were treated to two guest lecturers in the afternoon; Marc Gerstein via Skype, author of Flirting with Disaster, and James Taylor from Nova Scotia Power.  The event also included a banquet where guest speaker Ondrej Tomek, Project Engineer with the GMC Racing Division, spoke of his NASCAR-winning engine design.  Shown here are Acadia Engineering students Ashley Hardman and Lauren Kiri.
