Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Pure and Applied Science is active and vibrant all year round. During the semester, students are most familiar with the activities that take place in their classes and labs, but much goes on in this Faculty even when classes, lab, and final exams are not taking place. On May 8 – 9, the 36^th Annual Science Atlantic Undergraduate Psychology Conference was held at Acadia University. A total of 100 delegates (85 students, 15 faculty) from across Atlantic Canada were at the conference.  A diverse range of topics were discussed in the oral and poster presentations, from psychology as a core science (e.g., memory, neuroscience of epilepsy) to psychology as an applied science (e.g., hazing in female rugby players, discrimination encountered by female firefighters, yoga as a treatment for stress).
