Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Monday, February 23, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the forecasted weather. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours due to the weather and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Acadia Faculty Represent Science and Management of Protected Areas Association at BC Meeting

Last month Acadia's Dr. Steve Mockford, Dr. Tom Herman, and Dr. Soren Bondrup-Nielsen attended the British Columbia Parks Forum. The meeting brought together protected areas organizations with most of the delegates coming from British Columbia.

The Acadia facutly represented the Science and Management of Protected Areas Association (SAMPAA) and while at the meetin they launched the peer reviewed Journal of Science and Management of Protected Areas as well as SAMPAA Letters, a non-peer reviewed journal.

SAMPAA is 21 years old and has always had strong participation by Acadia Faculty.
