Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Monday, February 23, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the forecasted weather. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours due to the weather and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Acadia Students Shine at NS Energy R&D Forum

Acadia research students win 3 of the 4 “best poster” awards (and receive $500 each) at the NS Energy R&D Forum held in Halifax on May 16-17, 2012.

Student winners :

1. Kaycee Morrison (BSc Hon, Earth and Environmental Science) – best in Environment category

Title: Assessment of Bottom Substrate and Associated Epifauna at the FORCE Tidal Energy Demonstration Area

2. Mitchell O’Flaherty-Sproul (MSc, Mathematics) – best in Marine Renewable Energy category

Title: Validation of High Resolution Numerical Model Tidal Currents

3. Jim Ghoshdastidar (MSc, Chemistry) – best in Alternative Energy & Sustainability category
