Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Monday, February 23, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the forecasted weather. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours due to the weather and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Acadia Well Represented at the Atlantic Geoscience Society Colloquium

Acadia was well represented at the recent Atlantic Geoscience Society Colloquium held at the Old Orchard Inn.   Nearly 200 delegates hailed from all across the Atlantic provinces, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Colorado, Wales and China.  Acadia delegates included sixteen students from Geology, Applied Geomatics, Environmental Science and Biology, in addition to five Geology faculty.

Congratulations to winners of the Graham Williams Award for the best poster, Acadia Students,  Harun Alrashid (first place), Chancy Chang and Alexander Kaul (honourable mentions).

Dr. Rob Raeside, Head of Earth & Environmental Science at Acadia University, was also awarded the Distinguished Service Award of the Society.
