Student Team Finishes Second at CSEG - 2010 Challenge Bowl

Congratulations to Acadia team - Alexander Kaul and Leah Chiste for placing second in the 2010 Challenge Bowl.

What is the Challenge Bowl?

It is essentially geo-science Jeopardy. Eight teams compete in the final against students from other universities or colleges. The format consists of single and multiple choice questions from a range of geophysical (and geological) topics. The prize for the winning team will be an expense-paid trip to the SEG Annual Meeting in Denver Colorado (October 17-21, 2010), where they will compete in the SEG Challenge Bowl and have the chance to win valuable cash prizes.

The Challenge Bowl is a chance for post-secondary students to display their geophysical and geological knowledge.  The 2010 Challenge Bowl was held at a recent conference in Vancouver, BC.
